Top 5 for Friday

This is harder than I thought it would be - thinking of 5 great things from my week, every week. I guess it's a good exercise in learning to appreciate the small things. Anyway, here are the five highlights I came up with this week:

1.

The ultimate highlight of my week was getting a new copy of my college a cappella group's original CD, No Shirt, No Shoes, No Shere Khan. My old copy was all sorts of beat up and skipping all over the place. Anyway, one of my old group members still has a box of these CDs in her garage, and she mailed me a new copy. I've been living in Nostalgiaville ever since. Let's listen and relive my glory days together:

2.

I started running every day. Now, it's been a while since I've run... a good long while. So when I say 'run', what I really mean is 'I shuffle along for a few minutes at a pace akin to those old men you see out "running"'. You know, the ones that make you think, "Wow. I hope I can still walk when I'm 90, let alone jog!

Hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? By Wednesday, I was already up to 10 minutes of slow, agonizing shuffling.

3.

Talk about a leftovers masterpiece. On Wednesday night I threw together some leftover pizza sauce, heavy cream, and veggies to make a delicious pasta sauce. What makes this a highlight is Ted's reaction: "Mmmm!"  Now, from Ted, whose usual feedback is, "It's good," this is like exclaiming, "This is the best dinner you've ever made!" :) It made me feel good.

4.

Our local plant supply store had Columbines (the state flower of Colorado). I bought some early in the week and planted them on our back patio. Now I am reminded of Colorado whenever I look out the sliding glass doors.

5.

I think this one pretty much speaks for itself.

What were the highlights of your week?  Can you think of 5? Does everyone find this as challenging as I do?
