Valentine's Day Cometh

Valentine's Day is this Friday, y'all. As such, Pinterest and pretty much every blog I read has been inundated with Valentine's Day themed crafts and posts. How could I help but be sucked into at least one of them?

No, this has nothing to do with kitties - Minnie's just my backdrop. I came across a pattern for these little crocheted hearts on Cherry Heart - a UK crochet blog. It took a little trial and error to get it right since the pattern is written in UK crochet terms and I couldn't quite seem to wrap my head around it at first.

Finally, after making two heart-like shapes that weren't as cute as the ones pictured, I managed to get it right.

Since then I have been experimenting with different color combos using leftover yarn from my stash. They're quick and easy to make, but now I have to figure out what to do with them…. I think I might make little Valentines out of them and give them to my students and co-workers at school.

Do you have any good ideas? Which color combo is your favorite? I kinda like the ones with the rainbow yarn, myself.
